Shannon Curtis is a 2013 graduate of Luther College where he earned a B.A. in Music and Music Education.
While at Luther he performed with the Concert Band, Jazz Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, and the Valhalla Brass Quintet. He had the opportunity to be a part of many ensemble tours. Most notably, he spent two weeks in Brazil with the LCJO performing Jazz and Blues, and working with local music students! He also directed the Luther Pep Band and assisted in coordinating the Dorian Music Festivals for two years. Mr. Curtis has taught private lessons for 4 years and still maintains a performing schedule. Playing both solo and in ensembles, Mr. Curtis has provided music for events, church services, and weddings. In the near future he will have the opportunity to perform with the Austin Symphony Orchestra in Austin, MN, the North Iowa Concert Band in Mason City, IA, and the Mason City Municipal Band. In his free time, Mr. Curtis enjoys playing the trumpet and harmonica, biking, kayaking, woodcarving, and eating great food. |
